The CAT 2026 Information Bulletin does not promise a result date. It states that results are "likely to be declared by the First week of January, 2027."
That is a published likelihood, not a locked commitment. IIM Indore is the institute behind CAT 2026 this year. It has committed to a target window, nothing more precise than that. The bulletin's own wording neither rules in nor rules out an earlier or later date, inside or outside that specific week.
This same document also states the score-validity date and the scorecard-access mechanism. The sections below cover what the Information Bulletin confirms on each front, and where it genuinely stays silent. For the full CAT 2026 calendar around this result window, see the CAT 2026 overview page. For the admit card window that came before it, see the CAT 2026 admit card page.
CAT 2026 result: a stated likelihood, not a fixed date
Bulletin dated 26 July 2026The CAT 2026 Information Bulletin states results are "likely to be declared by the First week of January, 2027." The same bulletin states the CAT 2026 score is valid only till 31 December 2027.

CAT 2026, officially confirmed
Read both figures above exactly as the bulletin states them: one as a likelihood, one as a fixed date. Blurring that difference is the single easiest mistake to make here.
IIM Indore's CAT 2026 Information Bulletin states that results "are likely to be declared by the First week of January, 2027." That sentence carries a hedge inside it deliberately: "likely," not "will be." Treat the first week of January 2027 as the notified target. It is not a date a candidate can bank on to the exact day.
Nothing in the bulletin fixes one date within that week, and nothing else in the document narrows the window further. A result declared slightly before or slightly after that week would not contradict anything IIM Indore has actually stated. The bulletin never claimed that certainty in the first place.
Once declared, the CAT 2026 result reaches candidates through the same candidate portal used earlier for admit card download, on iimcat.ac.in. The Information Bulletin states scorecards "will be made accessible on the CAT website." It separately mentions that IIM Indore may also intimate candidates individually by SMS.
There is no separate public download link for the CAT 2026 scorecard, the same way none exists for the admit card. Access runs through candidate login on iimcat.ac.in. It becomes available on the website once IIM Indore declares results, per the Information Bulletin's own wording.
No scorecard queries after 31 December 2027
The CAT 2026 Information Bulletin states this plainly. IIM Indore will not entertain any queries about CAT 2026 scorecard issuance after 31 December 2027. Download and save the scorecard well before that date. That same validity window governs access itself.
Historically, CAT scorecards show a scaled score for each section and an overall scaled score. This is standard past-cycle practice, not a line item the CAT 2026 Information Bulletin itself confirms.
Past cycles show a separate percentile for each of the three sections, VARC, DILR and QA. This too follows how CAT has historically presented results, rather than a 2026-specific confirmation from the bulletin.
An overall percentile across all three sections combined has also been standard historical practice. Treat it as the expected format once the CAT 2026 scorecard is out. It is not an officially stated 2026 field before that.
This reflects what CAT scorecards have carried in past cycles, presented here as expected practice, not an invented claim. The CAT 2026 Information Bulletin available does not spell out its own scorecard's field layout in advance.
A score and a percentile answer two different questions. A scaled score reflects difficulty-adjusted performance on the specific question set a candidate actually sat. This score is normalised, so that one session is not easier or harder than another by design. A percentile then places that scaled score against every other CAT 2026 test-taker, across every session and city. It does not compare only against that one candidate's own session.
No 2026 score-to-percentile mapping exists yet
IIM Indore calculates percentiles only after every CAT 2026 candidate across every session has appeared. Any specific score-to-percentile figure quoted before results come out is a guess, not a published number. The population it depends on has not finished sitting the exam yet.
A percentile is not portable across years the way a raw score might seem to be. The same scaled score can convert to a different CAT percentile from one cycle to the next. This happens purely because the candidate pool changes every year.
It turned up no independently verified topper names or exact percentile-trend figures for previous CAT cycles. Coaching platforms publish plenty of both, but none of it is IIM-released data. It does not present any of it as fact.
The honest point here is structural, not specific. CAT recalculates its percentile distribution fresh each year, from that year's own test-taker pool and scores. A 99 percentile in one cycle and a 99 percentile the next do not necessarily sit on the same raw or scaled score. The population sitting the exam is not the same population each time.
A CAT 2026 percentile is an entry ticket, not an admission decision by itself. Once results are out, individual IIMs and other CAT-accepting institutes release their own shortlists. These cover Written Ability Test and Personal Interview rounds. Each institute follows its own timeline and its own weightage, not a single CAT-wide process.

Answers to what readers ask most often.
The CAT 2026 Information Bulletin states results are "likely" to be declared by the first week of January 2027. That wording is a stated likelihood, not a locked commitment. IIM Indore has not fixed an exact date beyond naming that week. Data Sources: CAT 2026 Information Bulletin (iimcat.ac.in).
No, it is a stated likelihood, not a confirmed date. The bulletin's own word is "likely." Nothing in the document narrows the first week of January 2027 down to one specific day. Data Sources: CAT 2026 Information Bulletin (iimcat.ac.in).
Log in to the candidate portal on iimcat.ac.in once the CAT 2026 result is declared. The bulletin also states candidates may be intimated individually by SMS once scorecards are accessible. Data Sources: CAT 2026 Information Bulletin (iimcat.ac.in).
The CAT 2026 score stays valid only till 31 December 2027. The Information Bulletin fixes and states this date directly, unlike the result-declaration date itself. Data Sources: CAT 2026 Information Bulletin (iimcat.ac.in).
