GMAT exam registration is not an application form with a last date. It is an mba.com account, an appointment and a payment, and you can finish all three in one sitting. In India the fee is US300 online, as per GMAC. Your name on the booking must match your passport exactly.
Passport first, then book
2026-10-20Indian candidates can test only with a valid international travel passport, at test centres and online. Aadhaar cards are not accepted. A name mismatch at check-in costs you the exam fee.
GMAC ID requirements for IndiaThis page follows the GMAT registration process step by step, from account to payment. It is written for GMAT 2027 exam registration, meaning candidates who test for 2027 admissions. For slot timing and school deadlines, see the GMAT 2027 exam date page. For the exam itself, see the GMAT exam overview.
GMAT exam registration runs on mba.com, GMAC's official site. There is no separate application portal and no form window. The GMAT registration process starts and ends in your account.

GMAT exam registration has no opening date and no closing date. Since there is no GMAT registration last date, you can register at any time of the year. You can complete the GMAT registration process today for a slot up to about 6 months ahead, as per GMAC.
The real limits on GMAT exam registration are slot availability and the change rules. Slots can be limited during August to November. You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before the appointment. You must fix account details at least 72 hours before it.
There is no GMAT registration last date. The only date like a GMAT registration last date is the latest booking time for your school deadline. GMAC advises leaving at least 20 days between your exam and an application deadline. The GMAT exam date page shows how to count backwards from a deadline.
GMAT exam registration is open to anyone aged 18 or more, as per GMAC. A candidate aged 13 to 17 can test only at a test centre. Written proof of parental or guardian consent is needed.
GMAC sets no degree, marks, work-experience or nationality condition for GMAT 2027 exam registration. The schools set those later, when you apply.
The minimum age is 18. If you are 13 to 17, GMAT exam registration needs written consent from a parent or guardian. You must test at a centre, not online.
Yes. GMAC asks for no academic qualification, so a final-year student can complete GMAT exam registration. The school you apply to will check your degree rule and, for executive routes, your work experience.
After GMAT exam registration, you can take the GMAT up to five times in a rolling 12-month period. You must wait at least 16 days between attempts. There is no lifetime limit. After a perfect 805, you must wait 5 years before testing again.
The GMAT registration process has four steps on mba.com. The steps are the same for the test centre and online, except for the centre choice. Complete GMAT exam registration only after you hold a valid passport. Keep your passport next to you, because your profile must match it. There is no GMAT registration last date, so you can follow these steps now.
For GMAT exam registration at a test centre, log in and choose "Register for the GMAT - Test Center". Then follow the same steps. You can also change a test-centre booking by phone. The phone service costs an extra US$10.
For GMAT exam registration, choose the test centre if ISB or an IIM executive programme is on your list. ISB, IIM Ahmedabad PGPX, IIM Bangalore PGPEM and IIM Calcutta MBAEx accept only test-centre scores. GMAC says both formats use the same scale and structure, and the online exam costs US$25 more in India. Online testing needs a private room, a desktop or laptop and a stable connection.
Online GMAT exam registration is not offered in Mainland China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Sudan. It is available in India. Proctoring is in English only. See the GMAT colleges page for each school's rule.
Check the system requirements on the GMAC online page, not on a delivery partner's page. GMAC lists Windows 10 or 11, or macOS 11.06 to 26.2, with a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. You need at least 2 Mbps up and down and 4 GB RAM. You also need 15 GB of free disk space and a screen of at least 1280 x 1024. A webcam is required. A VPN or corporate firewall is blocked. If your system fails the requirements on exam day, you cannot test and you lose the fee.
Yes. GMAC's page for GMAT exam registration links the free GMAT Official Starter Kit. It has 70+ official questions and two full-length adaptive practice exams. Read the GMAT exam pattern page before you begin.
Yes. You choose a centre, date and time during the booking. GMAC shows centre availability only inside the live booking tool. Open the tool to see the centres and slots near you.
Do three things before GMAT exam registration. Match your name to your passport, decide between online and test centre, and apply for accommodations if you need them. GMAC says approved accommodations are applied during scheduling and cannot be added later. The options include extra time, extra breaks, a reader or recorder, a sign-language interpreter, enlarged font and contrast changes. Write to testingaccommodations@gmac.com, as per the GMAC accommodations page.
GMAT registration fees India are US300 online. This is as per the GMAC payment page checked on 20 October 2026. GMAC sets the fee by country, so it differs in Nepal and the UK. GMAT registration fees India are therefore quoted only for the India view of the page.
GMAC's India page shows the fee in US dollars and shows no rupee price or Indian tax line. So GMAT registration fees India cannot be given in an exact rupee amount. Your rupee cost depends on the exchange rate on the day. GMAC also says all fees are subject to change.
The table shows the full cost of GMAT exam registration for the exam itself.
| Item | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Exam fee, test centre | US$275 | India view, 20 Oct 2026 |
| Exam fee, online | US$300 | India view, 20 Oct 2026 |
| Extra score report | US$35 each | First five are free within 48 hours |
| Phone service | US$10 | Extra, for test-centre bookings |
GMAC's India payment page lists one fee for the test centre and one for online. It shows no category-wise fee. GMAT registration fees India carry no category concession on that page. See the GMAT 2027 exam fees page for reschedule and cancellation charges.
The GMAT registration process ends with payment. You pay by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit or debit card at checkout. If the card is declined, the appointment is cancelled automatically. A voucher or fee waiver can pay the exam fee, but not a rescheduling fee.
It shows GMAC's payment line, not the word GMAT. Test-centre payments appear as VUE*GRAD MGMT TEST. Online payments appear as TALVIEW.INC.
No. Online vouchers cannot be used for test-centre exams, and test-centre vouchers cannot be used online.
No. GMAC gives no refund if a school does not accept the score. You also cannot cancel a payment for any product or service.
Partly, if you cancel early. GMAT registration fees India are refunded on a sliding scale of US120, depending on timing and format. Within 24 hours the entire fee is forfeited.
You lose the full exam fee. If you miss an appointment, you can book a new exam after a 24-hour wait. You pay the full fee again.
GMAT exam registration needs no document upload for the exam itself. The only document you need is a valid original passport, which is checked at check-in. For GMAT exam registration in India, GMAC accepts no other ID.
GMAC says you must show an international travel passport on exam day, at both test centres and online. It adds that there are no exceptions. An expired passport and passport renewal papers are not accepted.
No. Aadhaar cards are not accepted for the GMAT since June 2025. The GMAC ID page cites a policy update dated 11 June 2025. A separate GMAC Aadhaar notice says Aadhaar is no longer accepted for the online exam from 12 June 2025. The India ID page now asks for a passport at test centres and online. Both pages lead to the same result, so carry a passport.
GMAC's list of unacceptable IDs is long. It includes:
If you cannot meet the ID rule, such as a refugee or asylum seeker, write to testsecurity@gmac.com. Do this at least 10 business days before you schedule. Get GMAC's approval first.
GMAC publishes no photo or signature size rules for GMAT exam registration. GMAC takes the photo and signature at check-in instead. Its test security page also mentions an ID photo uploaded during registration, which is matched at check-in.
At a test centre, staff check your original ID and take a digital photograph. They also take a palm-vein scan where the law permits, and you sign the Test Taker Rules & Agreement digitally. Staff run a metal detector and a handheld scan before you enter. For an online exam, a proctor checks your ID.
Your GMAT 2027 exam registration details must match your ID exactly. GMAC says to match the name, birth date and country of citizenship you used when you scheduled. A mismatch or a refusal at check-in means you lose the exam fee. Read the GMAT admit card page for the full check-in list.
GMAT exam registration has no application form to correct. You change your booking instead, and you can edit account details at least 72 hours before the exam. Unlike a GMAT registration last date, which does not exist, the 24-hour and 72-hour limits are real.
Fix your name before the 72-hour limit. If your name differs from your passport on the day, you may lose the fee. After GMAT exam registration, you can change the date or format by rescheduling online. Test-centre bookings can also be changed by phone for an extra US$10.
Log in to your mba.com account and use the reschedule or cancel option for your appointment. You can do this up to 24 hours before the appointment. Within 24 hours no change is possible, and the entire fee is forfeited.
The charge depends on how early you act. A reschedule costs US180 and a cancellation refund runs from US120, depending on timing and format. The full table is on the GMAT exam date page.
