GMAT Result 2026: Date, Scorecard & How to Check

Updated on

By Atul Harsha, Content Manager

The first check on your GMAT exam results is the unofficial score on the screen. It shows your Total and three section scores before you leave the test. GMAC emails you when the Official Score Report is ready in your mba.com account. That takes about 3 to 5 working days and sometimes up to 20 working days. The score stays valid for five years.

GMAT exam results 2027 follow the same scale and timeline as today, since GMAC has announced no change. GMAC publishes no pass mark, no rank and no topper list. Each school decides what score it wants. The GMAT cutoff 2027 page lists the school-wise numbers.

GMAC exam pages say 3 to 5 days, with up to 20 days at times. GMAC help articles say five business days, with up to 20 business days. Plan on working days, since the help articles are more precise.

GMAT Result Release Date 2027: How Long Scores Take

GMAC sets no result date for GMAT exam results, because every candidate tests on a different day. Your unofficial score appears on the screen at the end of the exam. The Official Score Report follows by email.

In how many days do GMAT results come?

GMAT exam results come in about 3 to 5 working days, and sometimes up to 20 working days. This is the GMAT result time to plan on. GMAC says scores cannot be expedited. If more than 20 business days pass, use the contact form in the GMAC help article on a missing score.

GMAC scores every exam twice. If the two results differ, it investigates and does not report the score until the difference is resolved. This check can add to the wait.

The two timelines on GMAC's pages are not a conflict you need to solve. Use the longer one for GMAT exam results 2027. GMAC advises you to leave at least 20 days before an application deadline, if not longer. Read the GMAT 2027 dates page to plan the booking date back from that deadline. There is no GMAT result date to wait for, only your own test date.

How to Check GMAT Exam Results 2027?

You check your GMAT exam results on the exam screen first, then in My Account. Follow these steps.

  1. Finish the exam and read the unofficial score on the screen. It shows the Total score and the three section scores.
  2. Wait for the email. GMAC sends it when your Official Score Report is in your account.
  3. Log in to My Account on mba.com.
  4. Open your Official Score Report. It holds your GMAT exam results in full.
  5. Choose the schools to send it to.

Can I print or screenshot my unofficial GMAT score?

No. GMAC does not allow you to record, save, screenshot or print the unofficial score. Wait for the Official Score Report. It is the score that schools receive.

Your GMAT exam results sit in your mba.com account as the Official Score Report, which is free. These two official pages explain the report and the scores.

GMAC describes the report as something you open in your account. Use the account and not a search result for a GMAT result PDF.

Details Mentioned on GMAT Scorecard 2027

The scorecard for your GMAT exam results shows your Total score, your three section scores and a percentile for each. It also shows how you performed inside each section.

  • Total Score, Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights scores, with percentiles.
  • Performance by section.
  • Performance by programme and school, shown only after you send the report to a school.
  • Performance by content domain, question type and fundamental skills.
  • Time management.
  • A Review and Edit summary.
  • Your Superscore, if you have more than one valid attempt.

The report on your GMAT exam results does not list which questions you got wrong. It shows no answer key. Read the GMAT answer key page to see why. The Superscore takes your highest Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights scores across valid attempts. It shows the exam date and delivery method of each part. Expired and cancelled scores are left out.

GMAT Score vs Percentile (Total 205-805)

GMAT exam results are read through percentiles, so this table matters more than the raw number. A percentile tells you how many test takers scored below you. A percentile of 75 means you did better than 75% of other test takers. GMAC publishes the table below on mba.com for the data period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026.

The table covers 509,182 test takers. The mean Total score is 554.94, with a standard deviation of 94.24. GMAC does not publish a raw-to-scaled conversion. The score depends on the difficulty of the questions you answered, right or wrong. It also depends on how many you left unanswered.

The school notes come from each school's own page. Read them as the school's stated figure for its own programme, not as a GMAC rule.

Section scores have their own percentile lists, and GMAC updates every table once a year. Read GMAT exam results 2027 against the table GMAC shows today. The section means for the same data period are Quantitative 77.92, Verbal 79.43 and Data Insights 75.14.

Is a 645 or 675 GMAT score good?

GMAT exam results of 645 and 675 sit at the 86th and 94th percentile. Whether that is good depends on the school. HBS reports a median of 685 for its Class of 2027, and the middle 80% ranged from 645 to 735. London Business School reports a class average of around 645.

Is a 700 or 750 GMAT score real, and is it tough?

Neither is a score on the current scale, because every Total ends in 5. The nearest scores are 695 and 705, at the 97th and 98th percentile. At the top, 745 and 755 both show a percentile of 100. Pages that quote GMAT exam results of 700 or 750 are using the old scale.

Is 495 a bad GMAT score?

A 495 is at the 25th percentile. It beats about one in four test takers and sits well below the 50th percentile mark of 565. That is also below the 50th percentile floor that IIM Calcutta MBAEx sets. Schools review applications as a whole, so a score is one input.

How do old 200-800 scores compare with the current scale?

Do not compare the totals, since GMAC calls that inappropriate. Compare percentiles. This concordance is from GMAC, published in August 2026.

Old scores stay valid for five years from the appointment date. HBS reports the two editions separately. Its median is 730 for the 10th Edition and 685 for the current exam. Do not average them.

GMAC publishes no toppers for GMAT exam results and no pass percentage. It publishes testing-year totals instead. These figures are for testing year 2025 (1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025). They are as per the .

This page quotes no India mean score, because the column headings in GMAC's country table are not clear. The GMAT 2027 colleges page shows where these candidates send their scores.

What to Do After Your GMAT Score? Next Steps

After your GMAT exam results arrive, send your score to schools, apply, or retake the test. Each step has a rule.

How do I send my GMAT score to schools?

Send your GMAT exam results from your account. You can send five score reports free if you do it within 48 hours of your Official Score being available. Each extra report costs US$35. Schools receive the score within 8 hours, and a sent score cannot be undone.

Schools see the Total and section scores of your GMAT exam results, with percentiles. They also see basic personal data, your exam date and the delivery format. They do not see your detailed report.

What are the GMAT retake rules?

You can take the GMAT up to five times in a rolling 12 months. Keep at least 16 days between attempts. There is no lifetime limit. A score cancelled for a testing issue or violation still counts as an attempt.

After a perfect 805, you must wait five years to test again. GMAC says retesting can raise a score by 20 to 30 points on average. A retake gives you a new set of GMAT exam results. Your Superscore uses your best section scores across valid attempts.

How long is a GMAT result valid?

Your GMAT exam results stay valid for five years from the test date. This is the GMAT result validity that GMAC states. A school can set a shorter limit. IIM Calcutta MBAEx asks for a score within 36 months of 1 August 2026. ISB wants a score no older than five years from the application deadline.

A score older than five years but under ten can be sent in one case only. You must not have taken the GMAT in the last five years. Several schools also accept only test centre scores. Check the GMAT 2027 fees page for the cost of a retake.
