IIT Delhi has not released the JEE Advanced 2027 syllabus yet. The confirmed syllabus is still the JEE Advanced 2026 version.
IIT Roorkee published the JEE Advanced 2026 syllabus on 14 December 2025. That syllabus kept the same topics as 2025, and the year before that. IIT Delhi will organize the 2027 exam next, under a seven-year IIT rotation. As of 13 September 2026, IIT Delhi has not issued its own syllabus.
As of 13 September 2026, here is the exact status. IIT Delhi has issued no notification for the JEE Advanced 2027 syllabus. The host IIT usually confirms the exam date officially in early December of the prior year, then publishes the syllabus as a standalone PDF within about a week or two of that. IIT Kanpur confirmed the 2025 exam date on 2 December 2024. IIT Roorkee confirmed the 2026 exam date on 5-6 December 2025, then published the syllabus PDF on 14 December 2025, about a week later. Its full Information Brochure, with every other detail, followed by 29-30 December 2025. Based on this pattern, expect IIT Delhi to confirm the 2027 exam date around early December 2026, with the syllabus PDF following about a week or two after that, and the full brochure by early January 2027. Treat this window as a pattern-based estimate, not a confirmed date.
This page tracks the confirmed JEE Advanced 2026 syllabus. Use it as your working baseline for 2027 prep. It marks every spot where a 2027 update is still pending.

The confirmed 2026 syllabus covers seven broad areas in JEE Advanced 2027 Physics: General Physics, Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Electricity and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, and Modern Physics.
JEE Advanced Physics does not test Semiconductor Electronic Devices and Communication Systems. Only JEE Main does.
Units and dimensions, dimensional analysis, least count, and significant figures. Methods of measurement using vernier callipers, screw gauge, a simple pendulum, Young's modulus by Searle's method, specific heat by calorimetry, focal length of lenses and mirrors, speed of sound, and Ohm's law, an experimental-skills list JEE Main tests far more lightly.
Kinematics in one and two dimensions, projectile motion, uniform circular motion, Newton's laws, friction, work and energy, conservation of momentum, collisions, centre of mass, rigid body rotation, moment of inertia, angular momentum, simple harmonic motion, gravitation and Kepler's laws, elasticity, fluid mechanics, and wave motion.
Thermal expansion, calorimetry, heat conduction, the laws of thermodynamics, kinetic theory of gases, specific heats, and blackbody radiation.
Coulomb's law, electric field and potential, Gauss's law, capacitance, current electricity, Kirchhoff's laws, magnetic fields, the Biot-Savart and Ampere laws, electromagnetic induction, and AC circuits.
Basic characteristics of electromagnetic waves and the electromagnetic spectrum, tested at an elementary level only.
Reflection, refraction, total internal reflection, thin lenses, mirror combinations, interference, diffraction, and polarization.
Atomic structure, radioactivity, binding energy, nuclear fission and fusion, the photoelectric effect, Bohr's model, X-rays, and de Broglie wavelength.
No official weightage table
IIT Roorkee has never published marks-per-topic figures for JEE Advanced Physics, and there is no sign IIT Delhi will for 2027. Any weightage percentage circulating online is a coaching-institute estimate from past papers, not an IIT number.
The confirmed 2026 syllabus splits JEE Advanced 2027 Chemistry into three blocks: Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.
Chemistry overlaps with JEE Main more closely than Physics or Mathematics does. The three-branch structure is the same one you already studied for JEE Main.
General topics (mole concept, stoichiometry), gaseous and liquid states, atomic structure, chemical bonding, energetics, chemical and ionic equilibrium, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, solid state, solutions, and surface chemistry.
Classification of elements and periodicity, hydrogen and s-block elements, p-block elements, d-block and f-block elements, coordination compounds, extraction and isolation of metals, and qualitative salt analysis covering both cation and anion identification.
Basic principles (IUPAC nomenclature, isomerism, electronic effects, reaction mechanisms), hydrocarbons, organic compounds containing halogens, oxygen, and nitrogen, biomolecules, polymers, and practical detection of elements and functional groups.
No official weightage table
The same gap applies to Chemistry. No organizing IIT has published a marks-per-topic breakdown for JEE Advanced Chemistry. Treat every online weightage chart as a coaching estimate.
The confirmed 2026 syllabus covers eight areas in JEE Advanced 2027 Mathematics: Algebra, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Vectors, Probability, and Sets, Relations, and Functions. Calculus alone makes up two of those eight areas.
Algebra of complex numbers, quadratic equations, sequences and series, logarithms, permutations and combinations, and the binomial theorem.
Trigonometric functions and their properties, addition and multiple-angle formulas, and inverse trigonometric functions.
Two dimensions: straight lines, circles, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola. Three dimensions: direction cosines, planes, and lines in space.
Functions, limits, continuity, differentiability, derivatives, and applications including maxima, minima, and Rolle's and Lagrange's mean value theorems.
Indefinite and definite integrals, methods of integration, area under simple curves, and first-order differential equations.
Addition of vectors, scalar and vector products, and their geometric applications.
Addition and multiplication rules, independence, total probability, Bayes' theorem, and the probability distribution of a random variable.
Set operations, relations, and functions, including composite and inverse functions.
No official weightage table
Mathematics gets the same treatment. No organizing IIT has ever released a marks-per-topic table for JEE Advanced Mathematics. Weightage charts online are coaching estimates, not IIT data.
IIT Roorkee, and every organizing IIT before it, has never released a topic-weightage sheet for JEE Advanced. The list below shows topic frequency from coaching-institute analysis of the last three JEE Advanced papers. It is not an IIT document. Read it as a study-planning aid only.
Rotational mechanics, electromagnetic induction, and modern physics (the photoelectric effect, nuclear physics) show up almost every year, per coaching-institute review of the last three JEE Advanced papers. None of this is IIT-published data.
For the actual questions behind these patterns, see JEE Advanced 2027 Question Paper.

JEE Advanced runs as two compulsory papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both are computer-based, and each runs three hours. IIT Roorkee kept this structure for JEE Advanced 2026, held on 17 May 2026. IIT Delhi has not announced whether 2027 will change it.
Marking varies by question type. You get full marks for a fully correct answer, and partial marks on some multi-correct questions. Single-correct and multi-correct questions carry negative marking. Numerical-answer-type questions carry no negative marking.

Result = raw marks + AIR + category rank
Your result is never a percentile. JEE Advanced gives you raw marks, an All India Rank, and a category rank. The organizing IIT evaluates both papers together before it publishes the rank list. See JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2027 for full marking-scheme detail and the question-type breakdown.
The JEE Advanced syllabus structure has not changed across recent cycles. IIT Roorkee confirmed this in its 14 December 2025 notice for 2026. The notice stated there was no change from the year before.
The organizing institute changes every year. The syllabus has not changed.

Based on the seven-year IIT rotation. Not officially confirmed as of 13 September 2026.
First, learn what JEE Advanced drops from the JEE Main syllabus. JEE Advanced usually tests Mechanics, Organic Chemistry mechanisms, and Calculus more deeply.
Solve previous JEE Advanced papers before you start generic mock series. Multi-correct options, matrix-match sets, and comprehension-based questions do not appear in JEE Main. JEE Main mocks alone will not prepare you for the JEE Advanced format.
JEE Advanced Physics questions combine two or three concepts in one problem more often than JEE Main does. Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism carry the most combined-concept questions historically.
Organic and Physical Chemistry get most of the study hours. Inorganic Chemistry, periodic trends, block elements, coordination compounds, gets skipped and then costs marks. It rewards flat memorization more than any other JEE Advanced section.
JEE Advanced frequently sets questions that need both differential calculus and coordinate geometry in the same problem. Practising them as separate chapters misses this pattern.
Multi-correct options, matrix-match sets, and numerical-answer questions need format-specific practice. Solve at least three previous years' JEE Advanced papers under timed conditions before your first full mock.
See JEE Advanced 2027 Colleges for what these marks and your AIR actually convert into.
A live session on the Chemistry and Maths chapters that have historically carried the most marks, still relevant since the syllabus hasn't shifted.
