Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is a comprehensive, co-educational public university located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, just west of Detroit and east of Ann Arbor. Founded in 1849 as Michigan State Normal School, it originally focused on teacher training. Over the years, it has transformed into a full-fledged university offering a broad array of undergraduate and graduate programs.EMU serves a diverse student body and offers more than 200 undergraduate majors, minors and concentrations, alongside more than 150 graduate programs.
