Diablo Valley College is one of three publicly supported two-year community colleges in the Contra Costa Community College District. The larger of Diablo Valley College’s two campuses is located off Interstate 680 in Pleasant Hill, and the newer San Ramon Campus serves the south county in Dougherty Valley. Between its two campuses, Diablo Valley College serves more than 28,000 students each term with a wide variety of program options. They believe all of Diablo Valley College’s educational programs are of equal importance. Diablo Valley College conceive the heart of the school to be the student and the student to be the whole human being — the sum of his/her feelings, beliefs, thoughts, and attitudes, as well as his/her physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. Hence, Diablo Valley College encourage self-reliance, self-direction, intelligent use of the elements of their broad cultural heritage, and a genuine and critical quest for truth. Diablo Valley College believe that an excellent college education motivates students to learn well and gives students the ability to transfer and derive meaning from their learning.
