What Is the Age Limit for IIT Kharagpur Admission?
For JEE Advanced 2026 you had to be born on or after 1 October 2001. SC, ST and PwD candidates got five years of relaxation. Your JEE Main rank also had to be in the top 2,50,000 to sit JEE Advanced. The MPPLG has its own age limit of 30 years, or 35 years for SC, ST and PwD candidates, on 1 January 2026. The limit for 2027 will come with the JEE Advanced 2027 notice.
What Are the IIT Kharagpur Admission Requirements for PG Courses?
The IIT Kharagpur admission requirements for the M.Tech are a bachelor's degree and a valid GATE score. The M.Sc. needs JAM, and the MBA and MHRM need CAT with a four-year bachelor's degree or a master's degree. LLB, LLM and MPPLG candidates sit the institute's own test. Final-year students can apply, but their admission stays provisional until they show the final marksheet.

How Do You Apply for the IIT Kharagpur MBA?
You apply on the Vinod Gupta School of Management portal after the CAT results. For the 2026-28 batch, the CAT percentile cut-offs were the 90th for General and EWS, the 81st for OBC and the 60th for SC, ST and PwD. The school added the CAT score and the application rating to shortlist candidates, with four extra marks for female applicants. It then held a written aptitude test and a personal interview. The 2027-29 process will follow CAT 2026 results.
