Associate Degree of Science - AS in Cosmetology El Camino College

The Cosmetology program offers students the opportunity to gain proficiency in hair cutting, coloring, permanent waving, chemical relaxing, manicuring, pedicuring, facials, and related procedures. Upon completion of 1,600 hours, students will be prepared to take the California State Board of Cosmetology Examination to become licensed. Competencies are assessed regularly in compliance with the California State Board of Cosmetology criteria. Students completing the program may expect to enter the industry as a hairstylist, designers, color, and perm technicians, salon owners, and operators, estheticians, skincare specialists, or manicure technicians.
