The advanced practice placement module is an opportunity to raise awareness among employers of how contributions from these placement students can lead to mutually beneficial engagement and open a dialogue for further industry-university collaboration. One of the great advantages to students being placed within a business is that they are given an opportunity to experience real business environments and a chance demonstrate their skills and knowledge in a practical environment, contributing to and learning from the business. Whether it is attending meetings, gathering market research, developing real-world business solutions or analysing recent figures – contributing to a real organisation and communicating with staff will enrichen their experiences beyond the classroom.

Wrexham Glyndwr University started in 2008, making it one of the youngest universities in the UK. It is a vibrant, friendly place where each student’s learning and future is given personal attention.

Its name comes from Welsh scholar and hero Owain Glyndwr, and it aims to champion some of the same philosophies as him.

It is proud to name the university after a man who cherished learning, loved his country, embraced an international outlook, and constantly demonstrated an inspiring and enterprising approach to life.

His spirit lies at the heart of Wrexham Glyndwr University, where it set out to be bold, enterprising, and open to all in everything it does.

It has been delivering education at its main Wrexham campus since 1887 when it is known as the Wrexham School of Science and Art. It first started offering degrees in 1924, but it has come a long way since then.
