In the BA (Hons) in Animation degree, students have access to the latest industry-standard software used such as Autodesk Maya, Toon Boom Harmony, Dragon Frame, and the Creative Cloud suite. They also have access to Wacom Cintiq tablets and a purpose-built stop motion studio. Students enjoy industry-focused visits to gain first-hand insight into how creative media companies function and the variety of employment opportunities that are available in the development of their career aspirations. There are also other study trips to festivals and expos as well as opportunities to enter competitions.

Wrexham Glyndwr University started in 2008, making it one of the youngest universities in the UK. It is a vibrant, friendly place where each student’s learning and future is given personal attention.

Its name comes from Welsh scholar and hero Owain Glyndwr, and it aims to champion some of the same philosophies as him.

It is proud to name the university after a man who cherished learning, loved his country, embraced an international outlook, and constantly demonstrated an inspiring and enterprising approach to life.

His spirit lies at the heart of Wrexham Glyndwr University, where it set out to be bold, enterprising, and open to all in everything it does.

It has been delivering education at its main Wrexham campus since 1887 when it is known as the Wrexham School of Science and Art. It first started offering degrees in 1924, but it has come a long way since then.
