The BA (Hons) Architecture program at the University of Hertfordshire is a full-time undergraduate degree, designed to prepare students for a career in the field of architecture. The course covers a range of subjects within the field, including architectural design, history, theory, technologies, and professional practice. In this program, students work on a series of architectural design projects, gaining hands-on experience in drawing, model-making and digital design. They also study the history and philosophy of architecture, built environment studies, and technologies of architectural production. The course has a strong focus on preparing students for the professional world. Students are encouraged to undertake work placements, participate in live projects, and engage with the wider architecture and design community. This helps them to build a portfolio of work and develop a professional network before they graduate. At the end of this course, students are expected to have developed a deep understanding of the social, cultural, and environmental factors that affect architectural design, and they are well-prepared to pursue further studies or start their own architectural practice.
