The BA (Hons) Asia Pacific Studies program at the University of Central Lancashire is designed to prepare students for professional roles in rapidly changing, modern Asia Pacific region. The course explores diverse aspects including cultures, histories, societies, economies, geopolitics and international relations of the Asia Pacific region. It offers a broad interdisciplinary base where students can focus on particular countries or specialist themes such as gender, crime, migration, music or film. It combines language studies in either Chinese, Japanese or Korean with wide-ranging studies of the region. The program also includes an optional placement year where students can study at an Asian-Pacific university or work within an organization related to this field to gain practical experience.
