You can choose to take an additional Foundation Year before you start your LLB. This introductory year focuses on developing the key skills required to study at degree level. You will study six modules and on successful completion progress onto any of our three year degrees.

Our LLB (Hons) Law with Business is a three year full-time degree. It will give you a wide understanding of key legal topics and related skills, as well as developing business skills and competencies. As well as enabling you to progress to the next stage of legal training as a solicitor or barrister, it’s also a great choice if you want to move into a career outside of the legal sector as you’ll study a range of business modules that will make you employment-ready. Studying our degree will also mean you are prepared in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1) or to progress onto our Bar Practice Course (if you wish to qualify as a barrister).

With our LLB Law with Business degree, you will gain valuable real-world skills and experience through your study and business-related work placements. Mock trials, law simulations and pro bono work will ensure you graduate with a practical understanding of law and business. You will learn valuable transferable skills that could help in various professional careers, such as in the finance, banking and legal sectors.

Manchester which hosts both our legal and business courses, is located in the heart of the city, close to leading law firms and Manchester Piccadilly Train Station. The Metrolink, which connects the whole of Manchester and surrounding areas, is just a 2 minute walk from campus. The city has a thriving nightlife with plenty of bars, theatre and live music venues to choose from. Perfect for student life, Manchester is rich in art, fashion and heritage, and is as proud of its music scene as it is of its football teams. It has a thriving and diverse economy including business, legal and professional services.

Manchester has an amazing view of Piccadilly Gardens and is close to the main shopping area in Manchester with many shops offering student discounts. The campus’ workshop rooms are where you will spend most of your time whilst studying with us. Large groups and workshops are hosted here to enable you to learn collaboratively with your fellow students, making studying with us both effective and engaging. University of Law Manchester library resources are extensive and library courses are offered to those who need help navigating legal and business databases when studying.

Manchester have many opportunities to get involved in activities and events beyond your studies at our Manchester campus and will even have the option to start a society yourself. There is also a café on-site with a games area – a great place to unwind with friends.

Manchester employability service has career consultants that can give you advice on CVs and application forms, and help you prepare for interviews by conducting mock interviews. Our dedicated team will support you in finding work experience and pro bono opportunities that will boost your CV. We have reserved accommodation for undergraduate students in Manchester called Park View, which is a modern student accommodation complex that is just a 20 minute bus ride from campus.
