Human Resource Management (HRM) is the strategic and coherent approach to managing an organisation’s most valued assets: the people working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the business.

This four-year, full-time programme will develop in you the knowledge, competencies and skills necessary to function effectively as a HRM professional in a business environment. The programme covers the breadth and depth of the HR profession, from small to large organisations in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors; from the fundamental to sophisticated, and local to global.

The programme covers the key professional areas for the HRM professional stipulated by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and is accredited by the institute.

You can avail of a work placement in Year 3, which will enable you to acquire real-world experience in a business setting. Placement partners include leading companies in all the key business sectors. This placement is usually paid.

Study Abroad Opportunities

In Year 3, Semester 2, you can select either work placement (see above) or study in one of our partner universities in Europe, where modules are delivered in the English language.

On graduation, you may proceed to postgraduate studies leading to the award of MSc, MPhil or PhD at research institutes and universities worldwide.

Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) is Ireland’s first Technological University, offering a unique range of programmes and disciplines, with pathways to graduation from foundation and apprenticeship to undergraduate and doctoral levels. TU Dublin is the University where the arts, business, sciences, engineering and technology converge, and its 28,500 students and researchers come from all over Ireland and from all parts of the globe. TU Dublin has well-developed campuses in Dublin City and in the two largest areas of population growth in the Greater Dublin Region – Blanchardstown and Tallaght. Now, a new campus is being developed on a spectacular 73-acre site at Grangegorman in central Dublin. This is the largest higher education development project in Europe. The campus will provide an exceptional learning environment that supports research, innovation, and the advancement of knowledge and will welcome more than 10,000 students in September 2020. A further 5,000 students will relocate to the campus by 2022.

Aungier Street campus is built on the site as the former Jacob’s factory a historical site in Dublin 2, within a short walking distance of St Stephens Green and is extremely accessible by public transport from both sides of the city.

The campus extends 25,833 sqm (278,064sq ft) in total and accommodates 5,000 students. The campus houses the largest business school in Ireland. The campus is close to the Green Luas line stop at St Stephen’s Green. A range of cross-city Dublin Bus routes stop outside the campus, including the 15, 16, 140, 83, 122, 68. In 2023 the activity on this campus is scheduled to move across the Liffey to our flagship campus at Grangegorman.
