So, to help you showcase what you are capable of, you need to find at least two teachers and additional persons like coaches or counselors, as these are the numbers the schools typically require.

1. Start early
Planning ahead of time is always a good thing. As with other phases of a college application, organizing everything early minimizes the chance for failure. So, it is best to establish a good relationship with your teachers as soon as possible.
Talk to your teacher after class about a lesson or ask for assistance in your essay. This way, you will be able to establish a connection with them outside of the classroom. A lasting impression is a feat. You will have a much easier time finding someone to craft you an impressive letter of recommendation.
2. Consider potential recommenders carefully
Not everyone can be asked for a letter of recommendation. A teacher who gave you an A does not mean they should be asked for a letter. As a matter of fact, it is better if you ask someone who saw your struggle and how you overcame it.

After all, you wouldn’t be able to see those letters, so it is best to assure that what they will be writing is something great.
3. Give them the complete details and deadlines
When you ask for letters of recommendation from your teachers, you give them homework. Provide all the necessary materials your teacher may need in writing the letter. If you have to fill out a form and provide credentials, immediately gather them and give them to them.
It is ideal to supply them with a copy of a list of your extracurriculars, college essay and resume drafts, and other information that will easily help them write the letter. Remember to be considerate and kind while giving them notice before the deadline is due.
