This month, a fully-funded business center in Truro will open its doors, offering dedicated space and support to Cornish businesses, the University of Plymouth has announced.
The Acceleration Through Innovation 2 (ATI2) program’s Pop-up Innovation Centre will provide entrepreneurs with office space, meeting and event rooms, and desks, as well as business guidance from innovation accredited advisers.
The center is part of ATI2, a corporate outreach initiative run by the University of Plymouth and financed in part by the European Regional Development Fund and Cornwall Council.
On Jan. 27, 2022, the center will open to individuals working for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) who require facilities to support their operations while limitations are in place and follow the government’s COVID-19 standards.
The University of Plymouth’s new technology and interactive equipment will be on display for businesses to use and explore within the Pop-Up Innovation Centre’s substantially sized premises.
Businesses can meet with ATI2’s Business Innovation Advisors, accredited by the respected Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange and professional Innovation Practitioners (IKE).
After previously relocating from Hayle, where businesses across Penwith got together and engaged in the venue, the Pop-up will be running for four months.
ATI2 helps SMEs adopt innovative ideas that increase growth, productivity, and long-term change.
To date, over 350 businesses have been involved in the current effort, which has resulted in 29 grants worth GBP 769,856 being given out to support Cornish innovation projects.
