To welcome the Spring 2022 semester, Florida International University (FIU) president Mark B. Rosenberg addressed the university community and announced guidance to ensure the return to the campuses is safe and successful.
FIU is starting the “Blue and GOALS” campaign this semester, urging the members of the university community to all work together to make 2022 at the university the best year yet.
Rosenberg mentioned the recent achievements of FIU, including the largest leap in the rankings for a Very High Research University in the last five years. In 2021, FIU rose to No. 78 in the U.S. News and World Report’s list of top public universities in the United States.
FIU is also aware of the challenges that have arisen because of the prolonged period of uncertainty, caution, and illness.
Given its quick proliferation, the omicron variant is concerning, and FIU recognizes that the university community has questions and concerns about returning to campus.
Face coverings are strongly encouraged at FIU, with Rosenberg mentioning the best masks cover the nose and mouth.
Moreover, on-campus testing is available in a variety of modalities. On-campus vaccinations resumed on Jan. 10 at the Student Health centers and the FIU Health Clinic.
