How Many MBA Seats Does IIM Sirmaur Have for Each Category?
The policy gives category shares in percent, not seat counts. NIRF data shows a sanctioned intake of 285 for the two-year postgraduate programmes in 2024-25. IIM Sirmaur has not published the intake for Batch 2027-29. The central list as on the last date of registration decides who counts as reserved.

IIM Sirmaur has no direct admission for the two-year MBA. Every seat goes through a test score, a personal interview and a merit list. The IIM Sirmaur MBA admission policy 2026-28 says offers under any category or quota go strictly in order of merit. It lists no management quota seat. The policy for Batch 2027-29 is not out yet, and CAT 2026 is the next entry test.

Can You Get Into IIM Sirmaur Without CAT?

How Long Does It Take to Recover the IIM Sirmaur MBA Fee?
The fee equals about 16 months of the average CTC. This compares ₹21,00,000 with one year of ₹15.9 lakh, before tax and living cost, and it ignores interest on any loan. The median of ₹14.2 lakh (2024-25 graduates, NIRF 2026 data) gives about 18 months. The average of ₹13.30 lakh for AY 2024-25 gives about 19 months. This is a rough guide only. The fee also excludes mess charges and the salary a working student gives up for two years.
Who Gets a Good Return From IIM Sirmaur and Who Does Not?
The return is steadier for students who want a general-management start than for students who aim at the top-paying firms. In 2024-25, 293 of 295 graduates were placed, so getting a job is not the main risk. The size of the pay is. The highest CTC of ₹30 lakh is about twice the average, so most students earn less than that. The AY 2024-25 report gave an average of ₹13.70 lakh for men and ₹12.40 lakh for women, and it does not explain the gap. At ₹12.40 lakh, the fee equals about 1.7 years of pay.
The reports give no pay by sector and no figure for the top 10% of students. So you cannot tell what the lower half earns. The fee suits a fresher who wants a banking, IT, consulting or FMCG role and accepts pay near ₹13 to ₹16 lakh. It suits less a student who already earns well, because two years of that salary are lost. It also suits less a student who pays the full fee by loan, because interest adds to the cost.
