IIM Amritsar cutoff 2026 for General candidates is 90 percentile overall. The section bars are 80 in QA, 75 in DILR and 80 in VARC. These bars come from CAT 2025 for Batch 2026-28, the latest cycle published. They decide who enters the first shortlist. IIM Amritsar publishes no closing percentile, so clearing a bar does not promise an interview call.
IIM Amritsar sets a minimum CAT percentile in each section and overall, and you must clear all four bars. Your IIM Amritsar CAT percentile in each section and overall must clear its bar. Candidates who clear all four enter the first shortlist. The IIM Amritsar cutoff percentile therefore has four parts. The institute then scores them and calls a reasonable number for the personal interview, in rank order. The final offer follows an aggregate of the pre-PI and post-PI scores. IIM Amritsar cutoff marks are percentile bars and not raw marks.

A Bar to Enter Is Not a Bar to Get In
Clearing the IIM Amritsar cutoff puts you in the shortlist. The institute does not say how many candidates cleared the bars or how many it called. Treat the IIM Amritsar cutoff as a floor, and read the factors section for what ranks you.

The IIM Amritsar sectional cutoff sets a minimum percentile in QA, DILR and VARC. The IIM Amritsar cutoff has three section bars. You also need a positive raw score in all three. DILR has the lowest bar in every category. The table shows the range of the IIM Amritsar cutoff marks across the six categories.
| Section | Lowest bar (ST and PwD) | Highest bar (General) |
|---|---|---|
| QA | 40 | 80 |
| DILR | 35 | 75 |
| VARC | 37 | 80 |
A 90 overall percentile meets the General overall bar, but each section must also clear its own bar. Take a General candidate with 92 overall and 78 in QA. The QA bar is 80, so the candidate stays out. Check the IIM Amritsar sectional cutoff before you count on 90. Your IIM Amritsar CAT percentile in every section matters, and a high overall score does not cover a weak one.
DILR has the lowest IIM Amritsar cutoff 2026 bar in all six categories. The General bar is 75 there against 80 in QA and VARC. Check the IIM Amritsar sectional cutoff against your own scorecard, because every section must clear.
A Zero Raw Score Rules You Out
