Pharmacy

Overview

Pharmacy courses take students to the core of health care, enabling them to work alongside health practitioners in ensuring patients get the right treatments and medications. They are in charge of checking and verifying prescriptions and dosage to prevent any untoward incidents.

Studying Pharmacy will introduce students to different modules that discuss human biology and physiology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and pharmacology. You will also be taught how to do academic research and pharmacy skills, including diving into the different legal and ethical issues that surround drug development and clinical trials.

The course also allows you to specialize in different roles, including patient care, drug development, geriatric care, and infectious diseases.

Student requirements can vary per institution but a well-versed background in chemistry, biology, mathematics, and physics can help give you a competitive edge.
